NYT takes a shit on Giuliani

asshat.jpg The Editorial Board of the New York times may have finally administered a lethal dose of whoop-ass to Rudolph Guiliani with it’s spectacularly timed endorsement of Senator John McCain. In their January 25th editorial, the Times called Rudy out for the creepy-ass Darth Vader that he really is. Although it remains to be seen whether or not his strategy of showing up late to the party will work in Florida, I can’t imagine quotes like this will be any help at all:

The real Mr. Giuliani, whom many New Yorkers came to know and mistrust, is a narrow, obsessively secretive, vindictive man who saw no need to limit police power. Racial polarization was as much a legacy of his tenure as the rebirth of Times Square.

Wow! You like that? How about a little of this:

The Rudolph Giuliani of 2008 first shamelessly turned the horror of 9/11 into a lucrative business, with a secret client list, then exploited his city’s and the country’s nightmare to promote his presidential campaign.

That’s what I’m talking about! In the interest of full disclosure I should mention that the Times didn’t particularly like any of the Repulican candidates–an opinion I can’t find fault with–but I particularly enjoyed the tar-and-feather job that Rudy suffered at their hands. And right on the eve of his “Miracle Comeback!” Apparently the New York Times gets the same whiff of Nixon that I do from “America’s mayor.” Thankfully, his retarded campaign strategy means we won’t have to bother missing him when he actually drops out of the race.
